本展はtrans-Modernのコンセプトを体現する三つの要素で構成されます。
1. trans-Modernは最初のオリジナルプロダクトとして “t-M Lamp 01” “t-M Lamp 02” を発売します。
アルミ製のシェードは、「ペンダントタイプ」と「スタンド／壁掛けの2 wayタイプ」の二種です。調光も可能とし、様々な場面に多様な用途でお使いいただけます。シンプルなデザインの中に、熟練の職人の手により実現された独特の線や凹凸が素材感を際立たせます。（企画・制作： trans-Modern デザイン：猿山修 製造：貌製作所）
2. 猿山修製作の時計が組み合わされます。主に1940‒60年代の古物をベースとし、一点ずつ手を加えられ、唯一無二のものとして生まれ変わりました。過去最多の点数が出品されます。時計の中に流れる時間、時打ちが知らせる時間、これから刻まれる時間。過去、現在、未来を行き来するtrans-Modernの在り方と重なります。
3. 会場となるes quartセレクトによる家具により、照明と時計という点と点が結び合わされ、空間が立ち上がります。年代や素材、国、作り手は限定されません。横断的な視点で選び、自由に解釈する姿勢、圧倒的な知識と先入観の排除の両立は、trans-Modernの目指すところです。

trans-Modern（トランスモダン）はモダニズムとポストモダニズムの両方を横断し、批判精神を礎に、引き継ぐべきものを残しながら、より多様な価値観や表現方法を取り入れ、 一過性の評価に甘んじることなく、持続可能性を模索する。
インテリア全般にわたる提案を主軸として、プロダクトの開発、テーマに合わせた家具や食器、書籍等のセレクト、コーディネイトを行う。
素材や産地といった枠組みを越え、職人や技術者、デザイナー、ショップやブランドと協働することを通して、もの作りや暮らし方の新たな
可能性を提示する。また、単なる発表の機会としてのみならず、コンセプトを立体的に表し、体験する場として展覧会を企画、開催する。

【KAMAKURA meet】デザイナー 猿山修展「書画と時計を中心に」
2025年9月19日（金）から10月6日（月）までKAMAKURA meetにて、デザイナーの猿山修による個展「書画と時計を中心に」を開催いたします。本展では、居酒屋の品書きから着想を得た書画作品や、古い壁掛け時計を再構成した一点ものの時計作品をご紹介します。猿山修の独創的な世界観をお楽しみください。

We are pleased to announce that KAMAKURA meet will feature an exhibition by designer Osamu Saruyama titled “Centered Around Brush and Ink Works and Clocks,”on view from Friday, September 19 to Monday, October 6, 2025.This exhibition presents original works of Japanese brush and ink, inspired by the handwritten menus of traditional izakaya, alongside one-of-a-kind clocks reimagined from vintage timepieces. Each creation reflects Saruyama’s distinct sensibility and refined aesthetic. We look forward to welcoming you.
[ Message from the Artist ]
居酒屋が好きで若い頃から随分と通った。酒やつまみ、器もさることながら、その店の美意識や思想のようなものが表れるものに品書きがある。その中身はもちろん、どんな文字や絵で描かれているかが気に掛かる。書の依頼をいただいたことをきっかけに、自分なりに品書きを描いてみようと思った。終電を逃した日々も無駄ではなかった。人生何があるかわからない。
書画と共に出品する時計は、古物を土台として、余計と思われる要素は全て取り去り、箱を形作り、相応しい色を塗り、一台一台仕上げている。簡単な作業ではないが、あまり価値を見出されない古い時計が生まれ変わり、よい時計が見つからないというお客さまの声に応えられると嬉しく思う。呑み始めたら時間を忘れてしまうけれど、心地よい時打ちの音に誘われて、つい時計を見てしまう今日この頃。居酒屋にこの時計があれば、終電に間に合うかもしれない。そんなにうまくいかないのが人生か。
猿山修
I’ve always liked izakaya and spent much of my youth in them. The sake, the food, the vessels—yes—but I was most drawn to the menus. They reflect the sensibility of a place. Not just the items listed, but the way they’re written or drawn. A commission for calligraphy gave me the idea to try drawing a menu of my own. Perhaps those missed last trains weren’t for nothing. Life takes unexpected turns.
The clocks shown with the brush and ink works are each reworked from vintage pieces. I strip away the excess, shape the case, choose the color, and finish each by hand. It’s not quick work, but it gives new form to something overlooked. I’m glad if it helps someone who’s been looking for a clock that feels right.These days, I find myself watching the clock, drawn by the sound of its gentle chime—though once I start drinking, I still tend to forget the time. If one of these clocks had been in the izakaya, maybe I wouldn’t have missed the last train. Then again, life was never meant to be that simple.

猿山修 | デザイナー
1966年生まれ。東京麻布にて、デザイン事務所「ギュメレイアウトスタジオ」及び、古陶磁を含むテーブルウェア等を扱う「さる山」を主宰。グラフィック、プロダクト、及び空間デザインを広く手掛ける。各地の窯元等にデザインを提供する一方、陶工、金工等の作家との共作も多数。演劇、映像及び展覧会のための作曲・演奏活動も行う。現在は店舗を閉店し、デザイン事務所機能を台東区へ移転。
Osamu Saruyama | Designer
Born in 1966. Founder of “Guillemets Layout Studio” and the shop “Saruyama,” formerly based in Azabu, Tokyo, specializing in antique tableware and ceramics. His practice spans graphic, product, and spatial design. He collaborates widely with ceramicists, metalworkers, and other artists, and also composes and performs music for theatre, film, and exhibitions.
The shop is now closed, and his design studio has relocated to Taito-ku.
